A Letter from President Heidi Sterner

Dear Nevada AHU Members,

I and the entire Nevada AHU board of directors send you well wishes during this difficult and trying time.

We are being called upon to provide answers to our clients in ways we’ve not been asked before. As we all make adjustments in our business model for the temporary future, and assist our clients with the adjustments that they are making in theirs, we haven’t been more immediately needed than we are at this time in history.

While we receive many communications from all of our vendor partners, I wanted to point out the information that NAHU has provided for our use as well:

NAHU has a page dedicated to Coronavirus here: http://nahu.org/coronavirus-information. On this page you will find information from the CDC, WHO, CMS, DOL, IRS, Small Business Administration, Social Security as well as links to previously recorded webinars.

I would like to encourage you to listen to the NAHU Happy Hour Podcasts on topics of COVID-19  (March 20) and the CARES Act (March 27) using iTunes, Stitcher or Spotify.

In addition, our two local chapters have had to address holding meetings in person. Please look for information from your local chapter regarding April and May meetings. You can also keep up to date with each chapter by going to their websites and following them on social media. 

Our carrier partners have announced various ways they are assisting your clients. I encourage you to reach out to any carriers that you have not heard from to inquire directly with what their stance is regarding premium payments, Active at Work status, etc.

In addition, please remember that Nevada Health Link has opened a Special Enrollment Period through April 15th for those that did not enroll previously for January 1, 2020.

I want to personally thank all of Nevada's producer community for the work that you are doing at this time. I know that your clients appreciate you as well. Nevada AHU members are some of the best informed producers in Nevada. I look forward to seeing you soon.
