Successful 2025 Annual Benefits and Medicare Symposium
With the pomp and ceremony of the Reno High School ROTC color guard kicking off the festivities, the Northern Nevada chapter’s Annual Benefits and Medicare symposium enjoyed a very successful event at the Atlantis Resort and Casino on May 21st.
Attendees of over 150 members, guests and vendors, heard five hours of CE accredited presentations, covering a wide variety of topics.

The national NABIP Secretary, Stephanie Berger, was also in attendance to provide both a NABIP update and a CE program.

After opening remarks, incoming NABIP-NN President, Aliana Rushing, got things started with an ethics presentation titled “Together We Can Rewrite the Story”.

Calvin Bagley was next on the schedule with a Medicare topic titled “Navigating the Medicare Landscape: Current Events and Rules Impacting Agents”.

Frequent Exposition speaker, Paul Roberts, presented two separate topics with the first being titled “ACA at 15: The Evolution of American Healthcare”.
Paul then returned to the main stage to present “IRA Impact on Credible Part D Coverage for Employer Sponsored Plans.”

During the lunch, current President, Molly Moreno, moderated the Annual Membership Meeting, which included electing the local and state chapter officers for the 2025-26 board year, running from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
Also, during lunch, the chapter Vice President of Finance, Joy Gardner, presented checks to the two local charities that NABIP-NN is sponsoring this year. $1,686.50 was divided between the Nevada Youth Empowerment Program and Kids Kottage.

The last two speakers of the day were Lynn DeMaria, who did a program titled “Benefits That Attract the Best Talent: HSA/FSA/HRA” and Serena Farrel with a program about “Nevada Dual Special Needs Plans in 2025”.

Chapter Vice President, Georgana Cepeda, and her entire Expo-Medicare Summit organizing team were given a warm show of appreciation for an excellent day of presentations and activities.
